Michigan is one of only 13 states that have enacted a No-Fault Automobile law.  Everyone who owns a car must have no-fault insurance. 

Individuals who are injured in Michigan automobile accidents are entitled to reimbursement of their medical, prescription, wage loss, mileage and other related expenses REGARDLESS OF WHO CAUSED THE ACCIDENT. 

The No-Fault law is very complicated and difficult to understand.  It is hard to know how to fill out the required Application for No-Fault Benefits and deal with the insurance company.  If your expenses are not properly submitted and paid by the insurance company within one year from the date they are incurred, you will need to sue the insurance company to get your benefits paid.
